mnwards > The playground was covered 2 dump truck loads of "conchilla" - which is basically ground up seashells. This material provided excellent drainage and eliminated the mud problems that made the playground unusable after the frequent rain. The children love playing in it ...it's kind of like the beach!

mnwards > This toddler corner was completed by Sam Fenton and volunteers from the institute. A project of this size was definitely a team effort.

mnwards > The playground now includes an enclosed mini sport-court complete with netting over the top ...no more ball in the street!
mnwards > Here is the partially completed mini-sport/soccer court. The entire playground incorporates the ground seashell bedding called "conchilla" - kids love it (mothers hate it - the little shells follow the kids home in their pockets and shoes).
